A Small Update to Microsoft Teams That Makes Meetings Run Smoother

The Orbital10 Team • 12 May 2025

If you've ever sat through a Teams meeting hearing “next slide, please” on repeat, you’re not alone. Co-presenting in Teams hasn’t always been seamless—until now.

Microsoft has started rolling out a new feature that allows multiple presenters to control slides during a Teams meeting or webinar. That means smoother transitions, fewer awkward pauses, and a more professional experience overall.

Why This Matters

Until now, only one person could control the slide deck in a Teams presentation. Any co-presenters had to verbally ask the slide controller to move things along—often interrupting the flow.

This new update changes that. Now, meeting organisers can assign multiple people as co-presenters, giving them direct control over the slide deck. Each speaker can smoothly transition through their section without needing to ask for help or pause the meeting.

It may seem like a small tweak, but it’s a meaningful improvement for anyone who regularly hosts team meetings, client calls, or webinars.

What You Need to Know

  • The feature is rolling out first to the Teams desktop app on Windows.
  • Meeting hosts can assign co-presenters when scheduling the meeting.
  • It enhances collaboration and keeps presentations flowing without disruptions.

Combined with other recent Teams updates—like real-time chat during calls—this feature is part of Microsoft’s broader push to make meetings more intuitive and productive.
